Cheryl Fountain offers an extremely useful, easily understood roadmap to gaining self-confidence with ways and means of becoming bolder yet remaining a compassionate person. I liked her slant because it was nuanced and not preachy. Cheryl addresses many approaches that would benefit anyone seeking to improve their communication skills and build self-assurance.

This book is an easy read and I love that. I did a counselling program 3 years ago on assertiveness and it was difficult to comprehend all of the aspects to this and the way Cheryl breaks it down it doesn’t seem so overwhelming. Great book!

I was so blessed to receive this book to read. The poems hold a long lasting impression on me as they are so powerful and create such vivid images in my mind.

I cannot believe Cheryl was just a teenager when she wrote these, as she conveys such wisdom about life and how we ought to treat each other.

I learned a great deal about what living on the streets would be like and I have great compassion for anyone who ends up on this path.

I enjoy rereading her poems as each time I dive in, I get different insights and feel so many emotions.

She inspired me to want to write my own poems as I can see how healing it is, and the vulnerability she shows is so touching to experience.

I highly recommend this book.
